Benefit of Uniform Writing
汉字统一书写的益处
This uniform writing has helped China to unite and prosper in at least two ways. First，it is part of the cultural identity of people across dialects and ethnic groups. Without it the mutually unintelligible spoken dialects might have developed into different languages，and the minority peoples would not be able to share as common cultural legacy with the Han people. Second, the enduring writing has contributed to the political, social and cultural stability of the country for centuries.
这种统一的书写至少在两个方面帮助中国团结和繁荣。首先，它是跨方言和各族人民的文化认同的一部分。如果没有它，互不相通的方言有可能会发展成不同的语言，少数民族人民将无法与汉族人民分享共同的文化遗产。第二，几个世纪以来，统一的书写对于国家的政治，社会和文化的稳定作出了重要贡献。
