The Origin of Chinese Characters
汉字的起源
Chinese characters are the written symbols of the Chinese language. In the long development of the language，ancient Chinese gradually developed Chinese characters from drawings. Drawings are a representation of things with lines, colors, and images. People expressed their knowledge， thoughts，and feelings through drawings. Drawing was a form of art entertainment during leisure as well as a means of communication between people. As time went by, people began to consciously use drawings to express themselves, thus developing drawn writing, the basis of Chinese characters.
中国文字是中国语言的书写符号。在语言的长期发展中，中国古代逐步从图画中开发出中国文字。图画是用线条、颜色和图像表示事物。人们通过图画表达他们的知识，思想，和情感。图画是一种在休闲时的艺术娱乐形式以及人与人之间的交流手段。随着时间的推移，人们开始有意识地用图画来表达自己，从而发展绘画书写，这是汉字的基础。
