Buddhism in Tibetan
藏族人信奉佛教，在布托藏王松赞干布统治时期公元7世纪传入西藏。这是密宗印度佛教加上藏族萨满教的一种古老的应变。这就是所谓的喇嘛教，他们坚信轮回。达赖喇嘛的意思是“老师”或“年长者”。喇嘛必须是和尚，但不是所有的和尚都能成为喇嘛。到了14世纪末，藏传佛教有过多种教派，它渗透到藏民族的社会。
The Tibetan people believe in buddhism, which spread into Tibet during the reign of Buto King Songtsan Gambo in the 7th century. It is an ancient strain of Tantric Indian Buddhism coupled with Tibetan Shamanism. It is called Lamaism and it believes strongly in reincarnation. Lama means “teacher” or “superior being”. A lama must be a monk, but not all monks can become lamas. By the end of the 14th century, Tibetan Buddhism had had a variety of sects, which permeated Tibetansociety.
