精卫填海
Jing Wei is the name of a bird in the ancient Chinese legends, its folk name is Di Bird, meaning a bird of the God. The story is recorded in Shan Hai Jing.
精卫是中国古代神话传说中的一只鸟，她还有一个名字叫做“帝鸟”。
“In the Fa Jiu Mountains there was a thick forest.
这则故事出自《山海经》。
In the forest there was a strange bird.
“发鸠山中有一片茂密的森林。
Her figure was like a turtle.
森林中有一只奇怪的鸟儿。
She had on her head a striped pattern, and white beak and red claws.
它长得像一只龟。
Her cry was very pleasant.
头上有条纹的图案、长着白色的嘴巴和红色的爪子。
Originally she was the daughter of Yan Di，one of the earliest kings in ancient Chinese legends.
它的哭声非常动听。
Her name was Nu Wa.
它原先是中国古代神话中最早出现的帝王之一——炎帝的女儿。
Once when she swam in the sea she drowned and changed into a bird named Jing Wei.
她的名字叫做女娃。
Jing Wei often held in her mouth woods or rocks from the West Mountains and when she flew above the East Sea she dropped them into it because she believed she could fill the sea up by doing so. ”
